Dr. Letourneau, born in Concordia, Kansas, attended the University of Kansas as an undergraduate. He received his bachelors degree in Human Biology in 2003. After graduating from KU, Dr. Letourneau went on to study optometry at the University of Alabama-Birmingham, one of the top optometry schools in the country.
During his training, Dr. Letourneau completed an internship at the Veterans Administration Hospital in Tuscaloosa, AL, where he gained valuable experience managing glaucoma, macular degeneration, and diabetic eye disease. While at UAB, Dr. Letourneau became involved with Volunteer Optometric Services to Humanity (VOSH). While volunteering with VOSH, Dr. Letourneau traveled to Costa Rica, Honduras, and the Dominican Republic to provide eye health exams and distribute glasses to the under privileged. Dr. Letourneau is licensed to practice optometry in the state of Kansas and is a member of the Kansas Optometric Association and American Optometric Association as well as a member of the Sports Vision Section of the AOA. Dr. Letourneau is a participant in the See To Learn and Infantsee programs. During his free time, Dr. Letourneau enjoys spending time with family and friends, running, and attending local sporting events with his wife, Karla.
